Jo Potter

“All Year Long”

I was inspired to record a holiday song because this is one of those times of the year where we are typically elevated.  Our sense of caring for each other and generosity runs high and I was inspired to capture this sentiment and express my desire to keep it through the year.

What is your fondest holiday memory as a kid?

The memory that resonates most is the brilliance of the lights and the feeling of the family being together.

Do you still get excited about seeing gifts under the tree? What was your most favorite surprise?

I don’t get so excited anymore about gifts for myself under the tree, but love thinking of the reactions when others open their gifts.  To date, my most favorite surprise was a guitar signed by Sting.  He is a songwriter I respect and admire so it was no wonder I burst out in tears (of pure joy) when I opened it.

Do you have any special holiday family traditions you would like to share?

I always have a glass of champagne in the morning, cook all day long for Christmas meal, and bake cookies in the afternoon.

What is your favorite Christmas/holiday song (that isn’t yours)?

Oh holy night

Do you have any holiday recipes you would like to share?

Egg Nog, Kahlua, Vodka –  When I drink that, everything taste better and I like everyone just a little more.. 🙂

What message do you want people to hear when they listen to your song?

To celebrate love and extend their feelings towards each other during Christmas through the year.

What do you enjoy more? Receiving gifts or giving them?

There is no better gift than seeing the excitement on someone’s face when given a great present… giving is much more enjoyable for me!

Have you ever gotten a lump of coal in your stocking?

Yeah.. but I prefer to call them unrefined diamonds.  😉

Have you been naughty or nice this year?

Naughty… most definitely naughty and totally worth it.
