“All Around The World”

What inspired you to record a holiday song?

What inspired my record my love of the snow and winter. I had wonderful Christmases as a child. I have fond memories of the holidays of the snowfall, skiing, riding horses bareback in the snow and  of family and  friends, I wanted to create a gift of a recording..I will probably do another one..

What is your fondest holiday memory as a kid?

Sitting at the top of the steps at my Grandparents house in our red Christmas pajamas with my brother and cousins on Christmas Eve, giggling, while my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles put our gifts out.

Do you still get excited about seeing gifts under the tree? What was your most favorite surprise?

The year I received my own Suzy Bake Oven and Sink haha.. Also My father gives all the women makeup everyyear… this is a highlight. All the women in my family, my aunt, cousins, sister in law  come from near and far to get their makeup.. The ladies love my father at the makeup counter…

Do you have any special holiday family traditions you would like to share?

Yes, we have a fun one… its a scavenger hunt. everyone gets a box with a note in it… which takes you on a hunt for your last present..sometimes finding the notes can be hilarious like  “jog 1 mile to the neighbors mail box and jog back” eventually about 10 notes into the scavenger hunt  you are exhausted but the gift is always something really neat.

ENJOY Merry Christmas from Korea…

What are your fondest musical memories associated with the holiday season?

My fondest and most emotional musical memory was the year my song “All Around The World” was the theme for a special event in Bethlehem sponsored by The United Nations. Children from Israel and Palestine came on Christmas Day and created a human Peace Symbol and the words “Love All” It was very emotional for me as I believe Peace is possible and to have my song be a reflection of that at Jesus Birthplace. I’ve included the photo.  Jesus said “ Love each other” and many of the great waits and sages say the same…  We live in a world filled with so much division,  it’s so important to be kind, compassionate and we can be that all year long..It’s ok to be different, red yellow, black white,,, we are all human. I think we should hug someone every day. Kindness and love, human touch can change a person.

In your opinion, what is the all time best holiday song?

White Christmas, Bing Crosby

Do you believe in Santa?

Yes, I do, but I really believe in the spirit of Santa, St Nicholas, and giving gifts, The Maji Wise men were the first to give gifts at The Nativity. It’s a beautiful thing to give a gift to someone.

What message do you want people to hear when they listen to your song?

I hope people will hear hope, love, peace on earth for everyone…

I wrote a prayer in a way  “All Around The World, there’s a sound people praying, All Around The World Let there be peace on earth, All Around The World, in every heart,  in every heart, in every nation, All Around The World Let there be peace on earth,

This is the time of year when we all come together in Love, Kindness, worship, family and care for each other… We recorded many languages saying “Peace on Earth”“Merry Christmas” “Happy Hanukah” It was powerful.. We all want the same things..

What do you enjoy more? Receiving gifts or giving them?

Both… but giving gifts to children are wonderful…

What charities do you support?

Salvation Army, Unicef, Nashville Rescue Mission, Room At the inn, Compassion International
